Error message: “Storage available to Mylio is almost full”

At times, Mylio may display the error message “Storage available to Mylio is almost full”. This banner indicates that the drive in which Mylio is saving photos may be running out of space.

If you are receiving this error message, here are some things to check:

  • How have photos been importing?
    • If you are importing photos using the Copy command you may be duplicating your images to have a “Mylio version” and a “file system version”.
  • Have you copied from iPhoto or Aperture?
    • Importing with the iPhoto or Aperture tool will duplicate your images from those applications. This means your photos may be taking up double the space. It is recommended that you save your iPhoto or Aperture library to an external drive and remove it from the drive in which is running low on space.
  • Is your device a Vault when it should be auto-optimized? 
  • Clear the cache on your device
