Troubleshooting: File Type Support

Mylio supports a wide range of photo, video, and document formats. The table below outlines if a file type is supported and its level of compatibility. File types can have five levels of compatibility:

  • Import: These file types can be imported into the Mylio library.
  • Replicate: Mylio can sync these files between devices.
  • View: Mylio can view these file types in the app. Please see Video Support, below, for additional details on how Mylio utilizes videos.
  • Edit: Mylio can make edits to these file types.
  • RAW Support: A photos ability to be imported into Mylio is dependent on the camera that is used to take the photo. If you are shooting in RAW, please see this list to ensure your camera is supported.

Video Support

While all versions of Mylio allow for the importing and viewing of videos, only the Android version of Mylio will play videos directly from within the Mylio application.

Mylio for Mac, Windows, and iOS will use your device’s default video viewer to playback videos. This means that videos may not play properly if your computer’s default video viewer is not designed to play that video format. For instance, MPEG files may not play properly when synced to a Mac that has Quicktime as the default video player.

Android devices have a smaller range of supported videos as Android’s supported core video formats is more limited. While video files will still sync to an Android device, they may not play back as expected. To troubleshoot video playback on Android devices, please see this article.
