Error Message: “The Mylio catalog on this device needs to be repaired.”

When using Mylio, your catalog may become corrupted for a variety of reasons including unclean shutdowns and application/computer crashes. Mylio’s catalog recovery tool can rebuild your local catalog by comparing and reconciling differences between two Mylio Devices.

This article will walk you through catalog recovery in the event that your catalog is corrupted.

  Note:  for the fastest catalog recovery, it is recommended to have a second device on the same wi-fi network with Mylio running through this process.

Computer Catalog Recovery

  1. If Mylio has detected that your catalog has become corrupt, you will automatically be taken to the Support Options when Mylio is opened. Alternatively, you may see a red banner that reads “The Mylio catalog on this device needs to be repaired”. Clicking this banner will open the Catalog Needs Repair dialog.
      Note:  If you are not taken to these options, you can launch them by selecting Help from the Navigation panel, then Show Support Options on Startup.
  2. Select Repair a catalog.
  3. Open Mylio on as many devices as possible on the same wi-fi network. Plug in any portable devices to power.
  4. Select OK to begin to Catalog Recovery process.
  5. Mylio will scan for your other devices and begin to rebuild your local catalog automatically. This may take a few minutes.
  6. Once complete, Mylio will launch as normal with a fixed catalog.

iOS Catalog Recovery

  1. If Mylio has detected that your catalog has become corrupt, you will automatically be taken to the Support Options when Mylio is opened. Alternatively, you can open the Support Options by…
    1. Select the red banner that reads “The Mylio catalog on this device needs to be repaired”.
    2. Select “Show Support Options on Startup” from Mylio’s Help menu. Then, restart Mylio. Please note that Mylio may need closed in the App Switcher.
    3. 3D touch on the Mylio icon and select Support Options.
    4. Navigate to the Settings app on your iOS device, then select Mylio and toggle on Show Support Options on Startup.
  2. Open Mylio on as many devices as possible on the same wi-fi network. Plug in any portable devices, including your phone, to power.
  3. Select Repair Catalog to begin the Catalog Repair process.
  4. Mylio will scan for your other devices and begin to rebuild your local catalog automatically. This may take a few minutes.
  5. Once complete, Mylio will launch as normal with a fixed catalog.

Android Catalog Recovery

  1. If Mylio has detected that your catalog has become corrupt, you will automatically be taken to the Support Options when Mylio is opened. Alternatively, you can open the Support Options by…
    1. Select the red banner that reads “The Mylio catalog on this device needs to be repaired”.
    2. Select “Show Support Options on Startup” from Mylio’s Help menu. Then, restart Mylio. Please note that Mylio may need closed in the App Manager.
    3. Long press on the Mylio icon and select Support Options. This option may not be supported on all devices and operating systems.
  2. Open Mylio on as many devices as possible on the same wi-fi network. Plug in any portable devices, including your phone, to power.
  3. Select Repair Catalog to begin the Catalog Repair process.
  4. Mylio will scan for your other devices and begin to rebuild your local catalog automatically. This may take a few minutes.

External Drive Catalog Recovery

  1. If Mylio has detected that your external drive’s catalog has become corrupt, you will be shown a red banner that reads “The Mylio catalog on this device needs to be repaired”. Clicking this banner will open the Catalog Needs Repair dialog.
  2. Select Repair a catalog.
  3. Open Mylio on as many devices as possible on the same wi-fi network. Plug in any portable devices to power.
  4. Select OK to begin to Catalog Recovery process.
  5. Mylio will scan for your other devices and begin to rebuild your local catalog automatically. This may take a few minutes.
  6. Once complete, Mylio will launch as normal with a fixed catalog.
