Shuttle (also known as multi-location) is a unique and useful feature available as part of the Advanced version of Mylio.
Using shuttle, you can utilize a Mylio device to act as a relay between two devices that are not on the same wi-fi connection. This allows these devices to sync, even though they cannot establish a peer-to-peer connection.
As an example, if you have your home computer (labeled ‘Home Computer’) and your work computer (labeled ‘Work Computer’), you might upload 100 photos on your Work Computer that you want on your Home Computer. Mylio will sync these photos if you have the Home Computer and the Work Computer on the same wireless network. In the event that you want to use the Shuttle feature using the Mylio Cloud to transfer the photos instead, you can follow the steps listed below…
- On any device, open the device map.
- Select the Mylio Cloud if you would like to use Mylio Cloud as a shuttle device.
- Select ‘Device Settings’.
- Select ‘Shuttle’.
- Within the Shuttle menu, you can select the devices that you would like the Mylio Cloud to be in control of sending media to. Any device selected here will need it’s sync policies met before the photos will be removed from the cloud.
If a device is currently offline and cannot receive new media, Mylio will temporarily store these photos on the shuttle device until the shuttle is connected to the offline machine. Once connected, the photos will be downloaded and removed from the shuttle.
Please note that you do not have to use the Mylio Cloud to take advantage of the Shuttle feature. You can use any device that you have added as a Mylio Device as a shuttle between any other two devices.
